I’m Denis — the engineer who does the work.
I’m Dionisie Natea — Denis to most people — a building services engineer in Luton, running my own family business since 2015. I’m one engineer, qualified across heating, gas, plumbing, electrics, air conditioning, heat pumps and the compliance side, and I do most of the work myself. On bigger jobs I bring in trusted specialists when an extra pair of hands or a second trade on site speeds things up. No call centre, no fleet of vans — the person who quotes your job is the person who turns up and does it.
I list them in full — here’s why.
Credentials matter, and I list every one because regulated clients — landlords, care homes, managing agents — have to see them before they can put work my way. Homeowners deserve the same openness, so here’s the lot, with numbers you can check.
Five manufacturers
Vaillant, Worcester Bosch, Ideal, Viessmann and Intergas. Vaillant Advance Installer.
Air and ground source
Vaillant, Daikin, Mitsubishi Electric, Viessmann, Ideal and Grant — covering both air-source and ground-source systems.
Three manufacturers
Daikin, Mitsubishi Electric and Mitsubishi Heavy Industries.
Quooker & solar thermal
Quooker installer — boiling-water taps and the CUBE chilled, sparkling and CO₂ drinking-water system. Solar thermal Level 3 for servicing and repair.
Diagnostics, inspection & testing
18th Edition (BS 7671); Level 3 Awards in initial verification, periodic inspection and in-service inspection (PAT); Level 3 Certificate in Building Regulations for electrical installations in dwellings; Level 3 Award in the management of electrical equipment maintenance; Level 2 Certificate in fundamental inspection, testing and initial verification; Combined Heat and Power (CHP) training and diesel CHP generator servicing; lightning protection inspection and testing.
What gets me onto regulated sites
SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme); CSCS card; IPAF 3a (mobile vertical) and 3b (mobile boom); Level 3 First Aid at Work; Level 3 Energy Efficiency for gas- and oil-fired domestic heating and hot water. These are what let me work on care homes, assisted living and larger commercial sites without the client having to wonder whether the engineer turning up is allowed to be there.
On the electrical side I’m not NICEIC or NAPIT registered, and I’ll say so up front. My electrical work is fault-finding, inspection and testing (EICR), PAT, KNX and automation, and the electrical side of heating, plumbing and HVAC jobs — rather than new-build domestic rewiring as the lead contractor.
I measure faults — I don’t guess them.
I’ve put money into calibrated diagnostic kit so faults get measured rather than guessed at. Thermal imaging picks up electrical hotspots, underfloor-heating leaks, missing insulation and heat-loss patterns you can’t see by eye. Airflow and air-change rates get measured directly. Pressure, flow and temperature come off calibrated instruments. When I find a fault, I know what it is — not a guess that turns into a second visit and a second bill.
Landlords and care homes — and plenty of homeowners.
A big part of my work is for landlords, letting agents, HMO operators, care homes and assisted living across Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire. The site-safety tickets above — SMSTS, CSCS, IPAF, First Aid — together with the trade registrations make me straightforward to bring onto CQC-regulated premises, where the compliance paperwork has to stand up to inspection.
I also do plenty for homeowners — new boilers and heat pumps, bathroom installs, water softeners, Quooker taps, air conditioning, electrical inspections and system fault-finding. Whether it’s one flat or a portfolio of fifty, the same engineer does the work to the same standard.
Clear pricing, and you choose how parts are handled.
Fixed-price quotes for defined jobs — the price I quote is the price you pay. For breakdowns and fault-finding I work by the hour, with the rate agreed before I start. No surprise bills, and no emergency premium during normal working hours. I’ll tell you up front what the job is likely to involve, and if something genuinely unexpected turns up mid-job, I stop and talk it through with you before the bill changes.
On parts, I give you the choice — because the two options carry the risk differently:
I supply
You supply
I prefer Option 2 — it’s usually better value — but plenty of people would rather not get into sourcing parts or dealing with problems later, so Option 1 is always there. Either way, maintenance contracts are available per property or per visit, with out-of-hours cover for contract clients.
Warranty.
My warranty covers my workmanship for 24 months — that’s the labour and the way the job’s done, whichever parts option you choose. On boilers and heat pumps installed through the manufacturer schemes I’m accredited for, the parts-and-labour warranty usually runs between 7 and 12 years — I register the work so the full extended cover is in place from day one.
Where I work.
Luton, Dunstable, Harpenden, St Albans, Leighton Buzzard, Hitchin, Hemel Hempstead, and the surrounding Central Bedfordshire, Hertfordshire and Buckinghamshire areas.
When I work.
Monday to Saturday, 7am to 7pm. Sunday closed. Out-of-hours cover is available for clients on a maintenance contract.
Verify my registrations.
You don’t have to take my word for any of it. Here’s where to check, and what to enter:
- Gas Safe Register — go to the Check a Business page, click Check, and enter registration number 577195 (or search the name Building Services ON 247).
- F-Gas Register — my certificate is with FGASREGISTER (managed by Quidos). Go to fgasregister.com, search for a company, and enter certificate number FGAS2002910 or the name Building Services ON 247.
- Vaillant Advance Installers — use the Vaillant installer search and look me up by postcode LU3 2HH.
- CIPHE — the institute’s Find a Professional search lists me under postcode LU3 2HH as MCIPHE RP RHP.
If any of those is ever down or has changed, the quickest check is to call the Gas Safe Register on 0800 408 5500 with number 577195 — or just ring me and I’ll show you the cards.
Talk to the engineer.
Call and you’ll speak to me directly — the person who’ll do the work. Tell me what you need and I’ll tell you straight whether it’s something I can help with.
